Brushing Your Dogs’ Teeth/Dental Health

As I stated before, keeping your pets’ dental hygiene up to par is just as important as keeping your dental hygiene up to par. “The truth is an estimated 78% of dogs over 3 years old have some form of periodontal disease. If left untreated, oral disease can cause pain and infection, strongly affecting the behavior of your furry friend.”(Virbacpets.com). Keeping up with their oral hygiene is more simple than what you think, all you have to do is perform examinations at home with a soft tooth brush. (if you don’t know how to properly brush your dogs’ teeth, let the vet show you.) they also have dental chewable dog sticks that can help as well.

Good Diet/What A Good Diet Consists Of/Exercising

A good diet or healthy diet is also a key to keeping your dog stronger for longer and healthy too. When feeding your pet, you have to think about the proportion size as it compares to your pet. What I mean by that is that you have to maintain the amount of dog food that you give to your pet. (My dog Ruth is a small little thing who eats a lot but in small portions.)

A good diet, According to Pets.wedmd.com, ” how much to feed your pets depends on three factors: Age, Activity level and Ideal weight.” so make sure you keep those in mind when you begin this journey with your pet.

Exercising is very important as well. Keeping your dog in shape will not only improve them physically but in other aspects as well. if you want to know a few fun and simple exercises that you can do with your pet, read my article by clicking here.

Mental Health

A dogs’ mental well-being is also very important when staying healthy as well. Their mental health affects your mental health. According to Helpguide.org, ” More than any other animal, dogs have evolved to become acutely attuned to humans and our behavior and emotions. While dogs are able to understand many of the words we use, they’re even better at interpreting our tone of voice, body language, and gestures. And like any good human friend, a loyal dog will look into your eyes to gauge your emotional state and try to understand what you’re thinking and feeling.” So help yourself by helping your pet, that way you both win.

Doctors Visits/Importance Of Check-Ups

Making sure that your dog sees the vet at least a couple times a month is also very crucial in staying healthy as well. This way the vet can monitor your dogs’ changes or just to keep up with their fitness as well. Make sure that if any changes occur in between check-ups that you let the vet know so that they can see if something is wrong. The importance of telling the vet holds the key to your dogs’ well-being.

My Personal Thoughts

Personally, I feel like a pets’ health is just as important as the owners. When my dog Ruth was sick, I told the vet everything, from the symptoms she was having to how she was acting even down to the little details and I am glad I did because the vet was able to use what I had told him plus with their testing to determine a solution that got my Ruth back to her old happy healthy self!!!! If you follow some of this information, then your pet will stay stronger for longer. It worked for me and I hope it works for you. Happy Dog Days Everyone!!!!!!
